The memoirs of Marlon Brando's third wife released today in France, promising to reveal the truth about the mysterious actor's love with Tahiti and the suicide of his daughter Cheyenne.
"Marlon, My Love, My Suffering" by Tarita Teriipaia details the tortured 43-year relationship the pair encompassed in late1960s. Tarita Teriipaia is the mother of two of Brando's children, a son Simon Tehotu, and a daughter Tarita Cheyenne.
Marlon Brando fell in love with Tahiti when working on the remake of “Mutiny on the Bounty” in 1962, with Brando as Fletcher Christian. Tahitian beauty Tarita Teriipia, who had appeared in the movie "Bounty" as Fletcher Christian’s love interest Maimiti. Tarita Teriipia became his third wife after he and his second wife Maria Castaneda were divorced.
Marlon Brando took a 99-year lease on part of an atoll island, Tetiaroa, which he intended to make part-environmental laboratory and part-resort. Teriipia became the mother of two of his children. The hotel on Tetiaroa was eventually built, although it went through many redesigns due to changes demanded by Brando over the years, and is still in operation.

tyrant who could be cruel and loving at the same time. "We lived terrible tragedies and we all suffered a lot. Marlon never spoke about it. I wanted our children, all our grand-children to know our history," she told her co-author Lionel Duroy in this week's edition of Paris Match magazine.
The book offers some hints about the tragic death of Marlon Brando’s daughter. Christian Brando, his son by Welsh actress Anna Kashfi, was sentenced to 10 years in jail for the 1990 murder of Cheyenne's boyfriend. Cheyenne never recovered and hung herself in 1995 at the age of 25.
Publisher XO Editions plans an initial print run of 50,000 for France and is in talks to translate the book.
